Best Buy Run!
I finally visited the shiny new Best Buy at my local mall. Shame I couldn't do the three-hour run like I usually do with the guys. The store isn't nearly as big as the one back home, but it still has a great DVD selection. I got Dracula (the 1979 version with Laurence Olivier as Van Helsing) and Sealab 2021 Season 2 (Bizarro bizarro! I'm helping I'm helping!).
This Dracula movie is proof that a good actor tends to make his co-stars act better. The movie is not that great, but everyone else in the film seems to wake up whenever Olivier is on-screen. Frank Langella's version of Count Dracula is much more sensitive and gentler than other portrayals, but he looks twenty times more dangerous when facing Van Helsing.
I can't tell if I'm envious of Olivier because he was such a legendary actor, or just because he got to be a vampire hunter, which was a childhood dream of mine. Thank you, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest.
